The housing market is booming there.
Homes selling fast in Baldwin County
It has been about 10 years since the housing market crash, but in Baldwin County, that is a distant memory. A new report said some homes are selling in a day or less.
“People are looking to buy,” said Linda Lou Parsons, a real estate agent in Baldwin County.
The area is seeing a boost as it becomes a hot destination.
“Traffic is coming this way, there's a lot of people coming from different areas of the United States that want to live in Baldwin County,” said Donna Dorriety, a real estate agent in Baldwin County.
While every home is different, the amount of time it has a “for sale” sign is dropping, from last year to this year, it is down by more than 50 percent.
“Things are going quick and so that's why we're telling you, it's also a sellers’ market because if somebody wants to sell something, we're ready to list it because the inventory moves fast,” Parsons said.
The Baldwin County Association of Realtors loves seeing this trend.
“It's really just the limited supply in those price ranges are what's driving up basically the demand for fewer homes,” said Troy Wilson, the President of the Baldwin County Association of Realtors.
The numbers show the most movement in the lower price ranges, around $300,000.
“We're seeing it, I'm seeing it, she's seeing it, other realtors are seeing it too and the numbers are showing it,” Parsons said.
“For sale signs are turning into cash quick in Baldwin County, for sellers looking to move.
“With interest rates and prices both rising, if you find what you like you better go and get it now,” Dorriety said.
The Baldwin County Association of Realtors said part of the reason homes are selling so quick is because more of them are being priced right, which brings in more buyers.
